The pokemon came out really nice, great action pose here! Backgrounds do take a while to pick up, but keep at them and you'll definitely improve there :)

  Thank you, and yes, backgrounds are evil, but I am going to try to spend more time working on them this year so hopefully... I'll be somewhat more comfortable with them.

    As a teen I really avoided backgrounds a lot, but they eventually became one of my specialities. You can get there with practice! My suggestion is to do some photo studies, maybe even master studies-- just eyeball your reference, color pick from the source only when you just can't get it on your own, and don't be too attached to the result! Anyway, I won't ramble too long on your drawing, but if you ever want more info on this feel free to let me know :)

      I actually have a lot of trouble with anything that isn't fur so my biggest thing I wanted to work on soonish is a material study type thing.
      And then I want to actually get into doing backgrounds :)
