The preseason tournament saw its mix of highs, lows and exciting finishes. The Round of 16 having the mix of the three. Dominations by Thunder Bay and Hamilton happened at the same time as Overtime Winners by Bakersfield and Erie, as the field was thinned down to 8.

As the tournament went into the Quarterfinals, we saw some surprising results, as last years newly relocated cup winners, the Thunder Bay Puffins, fell in a 4-3 Defeat to Bridgeport. It also seemed like a bad day for Raz Yoshi, as Baltimore scored 3 on him, and the Killer Bees powerful offence sputtered, getting the Blue Herons the win.

As the tournmanet went into the Semi-Finals, it was agian Baltimore with a toppiling of a powerful goalie, they defeated Husky and the Tail Storm 3-1. On the other side, Bridgeport would have their run ended by a newly revitalized Wanderer team 4-2.
