Beothuks fight off a comeback surge by the Tail Storm.

The Beothuks were off to good start in the 1st, where Cliff Pumpkin couldn't quite remain calm under pressure of the Penalty Kill and was called for a crucial Cross-Checking penalty that ultimately led to 1 of 2 goals for Nico Väänänen. Newfoundland would continue to keep the pressure on throughout, as they outshot the Tail Storm by a count of 24 to 16, and would end the first with a 2 to Nil lead.

The Tail Storm stepped up in a penalty free 2nd, scoring 2 to tie the game back up. It's a whole new game, but who will capitalize? Newfoundland again outshot Erie in the period, but the margin was smaller 15 to 11, as the teams entered the third tied at 2.

There was a bit of drama in the 3rd when Beino Conway upended Grey Ash in what was seen by Newfoundland as a dirty play. Nico Väänänen responded with frustration and was called for Slashing. Turns out that was the needed motivation for Newfoundland as Fiction Sullivan deked Drake Husky for the shorthander to his glove side, thus sealing the deal for Newfoundland as they went on to win 3-2. Shots were tighter with Newfoundland having 18, Erie 17.
