After the attack, the village calmed down, but Feather had run off. Now, it's up to Itsuki to console him and get him to come back... if... he can.

By the way, I hope you all like the artwork for this chapter's title page. The footprints were pretty difficult to get to a point where I felt comfortable with how they looked, and the water took me a good bit too!

Fish Scales is a story about the life of a Yoshi, named Itsuki. The story begins on the night of the strange and sudden appearance of another Yoshi in the jungle on Marshgreen Island. From there, the first few chapters jump through time to show various major events in Itsuki’s life growing up. After that, the story takes place in the present time, with chapters releasing sporadically in the flow with other stories. While there is no overarching story arc that covers the entirety of the story, there are occasional larger arcs that take multiple chapters, and the story focuses on Itsuki’s growth in dealing with the events of his past on Marshgreen Island.

So yes, for those who may be wondering. The dream that Feather describes is exactly in reference to The Dino Scarf, which is a self-human to Yoshi TF comic I remade rather back in March for those who don't know. And the title "After the Dream" is in reference to the other drawing I released that same day, which was a remake of my first drawing of Feather. (As of the time of posting this chapter on Weasyl, I haven't released either of these drawings. They'll be coming soon, and I will update this description accordingly!) This chapter was meant to try to tie a lot of things together and make it all canon. That first TF comic was and is really special for me, so I wanted to bring it into Feather's story as a thing that actually happens, but I've already established that he wakes up in the jungle, which I depicted in the "After the Dream" pic. So, I decided to make it into a dream that he had prior to waking up there, which you can even see a slight hint at with the fade to white at the bottom of page 3 in the The Dino Scarf.
