After a Long Day [Inked] by FastWinger

After a Long Day [Inked]

FastWinger

Vindicator Onaala, putting her feet up by a cozy fire and relaxing with a warm drink.
Requested by a friend who plays World of Warcraft.

Hopefully I’ll be able to gather enough gumption to colour this and finish it, along with several other inked drawings.

How do you keep your perspective so neatly squared up? That's a persistent issue for me.

Oh wow, I know what you mean.

          Reference pictures help A LOT.
I play World of Warcraft a bit, so I was able to log in and take a ton of screen shots from the angles I wanted. Then I referenced them to help create the background.
You can also take pictures of buildings, walls, desks, etc. from real life, at angles you think will work.
Same thing works for characters. :)

Ah! Thank you. :D I try to use a lot of references for my figures, I don't know why my brain never skipped to references for backgrounds as well. I've used Photoshop's perspective grid setup in the past, but it's always felt cumbersome to get tweaked exactly how I want it for a present scene and, in the end, I often eschew backgrounds to begin with.

Thank you for the advice; one of the things I want to work on this year is putting more backgrounds into my work. :)

Scenes like this one always make me a little nostalgic for WoW. XD

      You're welcome. :)
The grid system in Photoshop can be helpful, but it can also be cumbersome, just like you say. I wish you luck with backgrounds and I look forward to seeing all your new art.

Lol, This is my first time playing WoW in about 3 or 4 years. I'm amazed at some of the changes they've made, and it's been fun getting back into it.
