Or if you prefer Protective Upgraded Nanotech Conducting Hazard Enhancement Arm laughs. Darwin may be a nerdy kid that speaks in a convoluted way but you got to give it to the little alien they do have a sense of humour.
Let's start off the new year... because apparently my health doesn't want to cooperate and this took 3 times as long as it should have... with something completely different!

I wonder if anyone predicted this because it was highly hinted at throughout the the profile of both Natalie and Darwin. Natalie doesn't like guns + Darwin is a genius weapon specialist + things are trying to kill them so something to keep them alive was needed = this!
You see in my sci fi there are different classes of weapons and one type is called "Enhancements" which simply means something that replaces a limb or is put over a limb to make it more efficient. Such weapons aren't as common since they depend on the wielder's personal strength rather than have a constant level of use no matter who uses it. As luck would have it this literally fits like a glove for a human that hits like a fucking tank evem without the weapon.

On top of making Natalie hit twice as hard/protects her arm and hand from breaking on impact it also comes with a nanotech conducting shield. Essentially teeny tiny bots create a very thin but unimaginably durable barrier instantly around the enhancement arm. Unlike usual bullet proof items these bots cause the projectile hitting the barrier to lose all steam so while it usually shatters violently the parts that break off are relatively slow moving therefore they won't fly off and kill someone.

Now you may be asking what's the downside to this? Battery power. You see nanotech conductor technology isn't commonly used since it requires a lot of power to pull off. So even with a very good energy source the barrier is only good for a few bursts for 15 or so seconds each. The only way around this is to have a LOT of batteries but this isn't really an option for an enhancement weapon as each one would add about 15 lbs to the weight of it. Natalie is strong but eventually her arm is going to snap under the weight of a bunch of backup batteries. Therefore this weapon is only used when our main cast absolutely needs it.

So there you go! Anything else you need to know just ask because this could get really long if I put everything I could say on it.

PS: I also took the time while doing this to improve Natalie's colour scheme. Her shoes now use the same palette as her hoodie but design wise are the same. This better unifies her palette.
