Morning Glory

FallenZephyr

Blue is one of my favourite colours to work with because there's simply so many different shades of it... and all of them are beautiful.

I chose the morning glory as the flowers in this piece because they match well with Stratos's often forlorn look. Morning glory flowers symbolize love, affection, or mortality, and are aptly named because they bloom in the morning and wither by the end of the day. However, in Chinese folklore, the morning glory represents the single day of the year on which lovers can meet. IIRC, it has something to do with a Chinese man and woman who each have important duties to fulfill, but they end up falling in love and neglecting those duties. God becomes angry so he separates the man and the woman by placing them on opposite sides of a river and only allows them to meet once per year.
