A piece of my very handsome husband, Mewrei. Used him as a test subject for my new tablet that arrived last night. I draw him often, so I figured drawing him would at least show how much I need to re-learn with this new tablet. Apparently, at least from what I feel, I hit the ground running. I don't think this looks too far off from my work done on the old Monoprice I've been using for years.

The new tablet is this thing, and I really rather like it! the screen is separate from my computer so I can continue to watch youtube or browse, and it'll make referencing stuff easier. It also has better colors than my current monitor (a backup as my old one broke recently). The pen doesn't require a battery, and it is of course my first actual tablet I can draw on directly screen-wise. I did have that ability with my lenovo yogabook, but the screen itself lacks pressure sensitivity so I used the tablet portion of that when mobile.

I actually didn't plan on getting a new tablet, my old monoprice is a workhorse that has well over paid itself off, and it continues to work. But when my good monitor croaked, my husband recommended just upgrading my setup entirely. Unfortunately the monitors I was looking at doubled in price due to the whole pandemic thing, so that'll have to wait, but at least this new tablet will provide the perfect art setup for me, and gaming will just have to be colored odd. I tend to hold onto old technology like a frugal goblin for as long as I can, and he's convinced me to upgrade quite a few things I've been neglecting in recent weeks lol.

Now that I have a nice new setup, I'll be doing daily sketches, or trying to if Little Rei will let me.
