The Disinterest Song (Original Composition)

everestian

Time to work on some originals for this year! Here's is one of the first I made for 2014. It's ostensibly a song about disinterest, or impartiality in the face of polarizing and frustrating situations. It's a philosophy I'm trying to build to ward off self-censuring and anxiety.

Thanks for listening, guys and gals! :)

LYRICS:
Everybody’s got a pillow to talk to
Everybody’s got a tissue to weep in

But it’s all the same to me, ah
It’s a cavalcade of private conference
See the boats as they leave from the harbor

It’s the love
That’s ensnared
By the opportunist
Anglers

Spoken: (but really, they hide behind their radiators)

Here they go repeating the same old story
A saga they write painstakingly at their leisure

But it’s all the same to me, ah
Florid masquerades and checkered pasts
See the train as it leaves from the station

It’s the love
Tightly wove
Around a celibate’s
Cynical finger

But it’s all the same to me, ah
Let them sink their jewels into their pillows
Let them take their treasure to the port
‘Cause it’s all the same to me, ah
Yes, I’m reeling in the apathy
'Cause it’s all the same to me, ah
Yes, it’s all the same to me, ah
All the same to me
