Commissioned concept work for the novel in progress, "Red Eden" by DreamsInScarEden. The book will be a glimpse into a reality that few have ever dared to conceptualize and fewer still have gazed through the eyes of its natural inhabitants: Hell.
This is a Damned Soul, the telltale sign of ever-burning flesh, but more importantly the unique mark of a "Fallen" is the "Fallen Mantle" that they wear. The Fallen Mantle flows from their back from the wounds where wings would have been worn had they ascended, giving off a telltale aura of their "Eden" (Soul Energy).

Oh, man. This is just awesome. The way you rendered the charcoal-y black texture is amazing, like you know just how it would feel under fingertips... assuming it's not too hot to touch, that is!
