"A still more glorious dawn awaits, not a sun rise, but a galaxy rise. A morning filled with 400 billion suns; the rising of the milky way."
~Carl Sagan
Piece for kcravenyote of her character Niko, which was originally going to be 6 hours, and then I got carried away! I didn't intend for a full background, but I got one. I really enjoyed working on it though, it was a TON of fun. First art of 2012, yay! Also, I got a really stellar redline critique from *dimespin on the arm closest to the viewer, and she let me draw over it to get the arm right!

Thanks! ^^ I work at at least 300 dpi on every piece unless otherwise specified for a particular project. the working size is about three times the size you see if you download the image. That way I can make dandy prints from everything! Plus working large then scaling down has the effect of tightening up an image and bringing out a certain crispness.
thanks! I prefer to work at high resolutions for exactly the same reasons but I tend to have to do some photoshop-fu to keep from overloading my computer (I use... a lot... of masks) so I was curious of your technique (I've found my original sizes to be... almost 8 times... the size of the web version, maaaaybe I should scale down a little), thanks for elaborating n_n
ONE DAY ESKI I WILL COMMISSION YOU.
it would be itneresting to see what you'd do...I'd probably just give you a rough idea a ref sheet then say have fun haha. I need to be less broke :P

have seen and loved this piece too n_n
while I'm dropping questions, I have a curiosity: what's your working resolution like? significantly larger than the web resolution? (as an aside, loving the marker tips dug from your DA gallery, I've just recently started to mess with markers and it's helped!)
