Fight Like a Girl

There is an organization that has been sending DMCA notices to artists who are selling art with the phrase "Fight Like a Girl" in it. The entity (a cancer charity) holds a trademark register for that phrase, and they think that allows them to boss artists around. The thing is, it's a COMMON PHRASE, which means they can't dictate how people use it if it's not in conjunction with their specific business/organization/agenda. I'm encouraging artists with this phrase in their work to stand their ground and not alter their work, if they feel comfortable and are capable of doing so. To put my money where my mouth is, I made my own design and put it up for sale on my Redbubble and Etsy store (not that it's a serious design that I expect anyone to actually buy). Let's see what happens!

    It's nicely done.

Nice. Inspires me to try and get a design with the phrase on redbubble.

I wonder if this group has tried going after Emilie Autumn for using the name for an album. :P

And it leaves me wondering how a girl fights. Personally, I punched more than one without too much retaliation and because they deserved it.

This submission isn't about real life violence whatsoever, and hearing about how you've punch girls who have "deserved it" is pretty messed up. Not appropriate. =/
