Her throat burned. Her fingers weren't moving the way they were supposed to. Her jaw stretched and snapped. Feet bent and warped, the toes shifting under her skin. A new appendage took up residence where her spine should have ended, distracting her with the alien sensations of a tail. She couldn't breath, and she couldn't control her body enough to swim free!

The burning within her throat was complimented by the amulet, straining futilely against things it was ill-equipped to handle. This was not some mere "spell:" this was a full-frontal assault by the fabric of reality! Wherever the mage had been taken, the world she was in now insisted that "human" was not the right form for her.
