Righto gang here's the deal: after taking a good hard look at my work and my finances and the amount of time and energy these things take, I have come to the conclusion that a price hike is in order. WHY? You may well ask!
Well, lots of reasons. But to boil it down to two: first, there's the simple matter that I can't afford to continue working at my current (Pre-AC) rates for much longer. Second, it is my belief that it's an artist's duty to charge as much as she can get away with—thus allowing younger, less popular artists to price themselves competitively, and raising the value of artwork in general. I don't pretend to be in the same rank as Dark Natasha or Nambroth, but I don't want to undercharge—not only for my own sake, but for the sake of illustration as a business.
That being said, I don't want to spring this one on you. I understand that buying art is a luxury, and I totally support the notion that you should make sure gas/rent/food is covered before handing over a hundred bucks for a badge. Therefore, I'm offering an EXTREMELY LIMITED number of commission slots, for delivery at AC, at my original price. Also, I'll be open for take-home orders all weekend at AC, and these will be at a lower rate than those I need to finish at the con. Depending on how things go, I may be able to open up a few slots for mail delivery after the con—but considering what my summer and autumn are looking like, don't count on this.
