I felt like getting back into creature design and this is a thing that happened because of that! I'd drawn a weird flying snooty creature shortly beforehand and figured it'd be nice to refine that idea.

These snoots don't fly, but they do shuffle around in forests being tiny and cute (and attracting moths and other night insects in the evenings with their luminescent noses so they can eat before it's time to sleep!)

The silhouette is a pretty simplified version because it was easier to get the outline looking right on a more basic, cartoony creature. I wanted them to be really compact and chunky, which I think didn't translate quite as well to the more realistic pictures but I still think they're adorable. I had fun making the simplified skeleton for them - I referenced badger and wombat skeletons to try and get the cute stubby legs looking right.

Also, the pink and purplish ones are males, and females are brown or cream! They all go a lighter colour for their winter coat, but I didn't make any examples for that apart from the pure white coat, which is pretty uncommon in snoots no matter what the season.
