Creature Sketches- Sitsu Nandi (critique requested)

EiraoLaska

Species name: Sitsu Nandi (Sih-Tsoo Nahn-dee)

Size: Males- 3.5 ft/1.06 m long. Females- 4.5 ft/1.37m long.

Sexual dimorphism: Males are smaller with brightly colored yellow scales and orange spines on the head, neck, and arms.

Habitat: Primary forests of East and South-Eastern Lician.

Diet: Omnivores. Diet consists mainly of insects. Fruit is eaten when available.

Breeding: Eggs are laid in Hiarue (late autumn) and hatch in early Merosi(spring). Clutches range from 9-13 eggs.

Maturity: Both males and females reach sexual maturity in their second year.

Lifespan: ~9 years.

(as usual, the next behavior paragraph is huge and bold, nothing I do seems to be able to fix this)

Behavior: Nandi are arboreal, coming down from trees only to hibernate and lay eggs. Due to their calm nature they are commonly kept as pets within their native range. Males set up small territories during the breeding season in Hiarue, fighting for the areas with the most cover and food availability. Females chose the males that can provide the most food. Fresh insects are preferred. If they're consistently given fruit or stale insects (some males will try to hoard food to win over females) they'll move to another territory. Females will also reabsorb developing embryos if the male stops providing food immediately after mating. Nandi hibernate in mass colonies in deep underground burrows dug by other animals. Eggs are also laid during this time and incubate through Ruube (winter) to hatch before adults wake up for the year.

Cute looking critter, kind of interested in seeing how they move XD Like the spines/feathers on the males.

Kind of a scamper/slither. :) Though they're almost always in the trees so they don't need to stand and walk in a traditional sense. Thank you!
