Surfer Dude ~by Draygone

dray-and-erika

Charles floated there, looking at the sword stuck in the rocks. It almost seemed as though it had called him there. Not that it would be of much use to him. Still, the mer-swordfish pulled it out anyway, figuring that perhaps it could prove useful for someone else. Suddenly, a blue aura enveloped both the sword and himself, barely visible. He felt a familiar sensation, as his long nose pulled into his face, his fishy skin became pink and fleshy, and hair grew on his head. And, that was it. Charles put a hand to his face. It was human, again. And yet, he wasn't completely human. He looked at the enchanted sword, still in his hand. Perhaps it is of more use to him than he thought.

[Ageaus]'s characters often find themselves transformed in a variety of ways, and Charles is no exception. Often, he finds himself in the form of a feral-looking mer-swordfish. So when Ageaus asked me to draw the surfer dude in my free sketches dealie, I was offered the chance to make Charles a little less feral. This is the first time I'd drawn anything resembling a fish. I guess it turned out okay, but my gosh, I'm so bad at humans.

For comparison, here's the [most recent picture] Ageaus has done of Charles (once again, with a transformation involved).

Lineart took ~ 2 hours, 40 minutes

This was the fourth and final free sketch that I did. Unfortunately, I had promised five, but I just wasn't finding much enjoyment in drawing at this time. (I technically still owe art to the person who claimed the fifth slot.)
