Skinwalker shapeshifting dragon witch with elemental POWERS!...and tiny enchanted guard owl! 8D ...witch is one of the best excuses to have an owl...
..I still made a lil backstory/legend...

A child, forewarned and shunned by the village priest, it was abandoned in the neighboring mountains, in the hope that the dragons that host the mountains would feast on it and rid the world of it's presence.
Yet she did not only survive but was adopted by a fire dragon, which acted as her guardian and mentor as she aged. The child, like the dragonkin was gifted with inner magic, as the dragon took her in due to this, and raised her in the arts of fire.
Yet humanity was prideful and greedy, as knights soon began roaming the mountain in the hope of slaying dragons and reaping rewards. This one unlucky dragon was the girl's guardian, as he was ambushed and slayed by a vast number of knights. The girl, in her anger would not allow the hunters to reap their reward, as she extracted the fiery magic from the dragon's dying soul and incinerated the remainder of the hunters.
Now, wearing it's pelt, she has focused her magical energy into a metamorphosis spell, bonded to the skull as a blue pearl , as day by day, transformation by transformation, not only does she grow in strength, but even her normal body is becoming less and less human. She roams the mountains in search of dying dragon souls to extract their elemental essence and use it as her own power.
In order to make sure she was guarded, and to fill the loneliness in her heart, she has enchanted a young owl with part of her guardian's dragon essance. Now he serves as an extra pair of eyes... and claws.

Before you say "OMG FAIRY TAIL, NATSU!" may I remind you that the concept of humans being taught and raised by non human beings has existed in fiction since the beggining. So if anything, just an inspiration.

There is also a small.... reference to something here. And while you may be shocked to what it is, you may be even more shocked to know it greatly influenced my tastes and even art career.
