It's a rapier, she's in no danger of cutting herself :3
Fun fact, most swords are not actually all that sharp until the very top of the blade. Notable exception being the katana, but even then only the upper third is really focused on and most of the time. I used to help polish/sharpen katana at my dojo and the 'normal' sharpening only ever touched about ten inches of blade.
