Pink Is the Colour of the Demon Sea

DoNotDelete

My last two submissions mentioned something about me learning to use Adobe Photoshop to colour my work; Looking back I realise I was misdirecting myself when I said that.

I think I wanted to learn to colour with Photoshop because I see many other artists producing such great work with bitmap-based programs.

But I'm not a bitmap artist; I'm a vector artist.

As much as I adore other people's work I also have to acknowledge the value in my own unique way of executing my artwork - and I have to continue to try to get the most out of Adobe Illustrator irregardless of its limitations.

The work I'll be producing from now on will be all to do with mastering and developing this style - mainly for use in graphic novel pages once I've finalised some of the story projects and character designs I've been working on.

This character isn't from one of my stories - she's just a random coalescence of stray thoughts, but she deserves a name so I'll call her 'Cadbury Creme'.

I don't really want to do fan art anymore so I'll probably be aiming to generate more original characters like Cadbury until I'm ready to reveal the characters I've designed for my graphic novel projects.

I can't imagine what drawing AND coloring with vectors is like, maybe I should give it a try if I get photoshop.

    Also, pretty picture.
