well granted, i spent most of my time distracted but

kinda story relevant, lucy lives on a massive island (with many smaller islands around it) that’s basically tourist bait; the whole thing, her culture aswell as the cultures of other natives reduced to a good time on the beach

most have adopted jobs as a sort of ‘entertainment’ for visitors; working in popular restaurants, serving in bars, that kind of deal. She’s fallen victim to it herself of course, working a dead end job at a snack shack around seaside.

she’s also one of many struggling to survive just above the growing poverty line and
