3D printed and assembled prototype for an ear mech I'm experimenting with. It will need some refinement for sure, and now I've made one I can see how to make it smaller. But it was so much easier to model the parts and then print them rather than machining them from stock.
To give an idea of scale, the main grey piece is roughly 4cm (1 3/4") square. It would fit in a toony head, but once I've proved the idea I'd look to make a smaller version to fit a more realistic head.
The idea is to get some reasonably realistic ear movements, and create a more expressive head. I've go some of the software prepared, but the project had reached the point where it needed some physical testing; hence rapid prototyping.

When you say ear mech, you talkin a motor to give your ears some movement? I know it's a macro shot but, even then this thing looks HUGE
