This is a character from my NaNoWriMo that... while I don't feel comfortable posting the whole thing here (it needs serious editing.) I did feel proud of many concepts. Among these was the greater fae character, Meras.

Meras as you can see is somewhat of an Ent creature, but also has somewhat cervine features as well. "Meras" is not his real name - it's one of two names you simply refer to him as. The true name of a fae is a closely guarded secret, and the higher up you go the more closely guarded it becomes - Meras is a pretty powerful one, so good luck trying to find his name out.

When I wrote the story I pretty much had a gimmick going where he wasn't actually described - the characters' comments were what described him, as well as a few odd actions. one of his two avatars was instantly recognized by his mortal apprentice as him because it was a stag.

His little circle of influence in the realm of faerie is a garden and forest of the likes you've never seen before. You do not want to eat any of the fruits and veggies that grow there unless you are protected. :P The first bite is better than anything you ever had before - the second causes you to lose your way. After that, you lose your memories. His apprentice, Sheena, was one of those people - the girl arrived and made the mistake of eating two grapes. Because that is how he can hear anything within his own sphere, he got a massive headache, but was surprised at the girl for several reasons. Thus, he took Sheena as his mortal apprentice into the House Sylvestris, essentially raising the young girl who entered.

(Granted, you know how the Fae work... so if you're thinking of something else that they normally do, keep it up. That story of Sheena wandering into his domain may be true, but it may not be. You think I want to tell? :P )

Meras's garden is a nirvana for people who love plants and nature. However, you know how fae work - especially the fact that his narrator likes this kind of stuff - so some of those plants may have... not exactly been propagated via seeds and cuttings. :P You will find all sorts of creatures within his domain should you ever walk in there. Sometimes animal, sometimes mineral, and sometimes vegetable, but usually the first and the latter. :P If you want to find lumbering beings of stone, you might want to look in some other places too... I hear there's some crystalline beings.

Oh, his antlers don't fall off either. :P

Ageaus did a great job on this one. That's pretty much exactly as I imagined him.
