You know, I think the heavy shadow is just a nasty habit of mine. I have never been the master of subtlety, and my shadows have always been fairly harsh. When I first started drawing, I was continually told that my shadows were non-existant, so this may be a phase of me swinging too far the other direction. I'll try and dial it back a touch. Oops!

I don't think it's bad because I understand the sentiment of wanting good contrast between shadow and light, I'm just wondering if there shouldn't be a bit harsher light source to compensate for it. You've got a nice balance on the banner though.

Oh, hmm, I didn't think of that end. He's definitely got shadow, but not sure he has a true highlight like the flag is toying with. He gets "brighter", but maybe that's another route to fixing a heavy shadow. Ahh, so many choices.

You artists. XD Ahh, that armor looks badass. I enjoy the really heavy shadows from behind, though trying to wrap my mind around the light source so I can get why they're as heavy as they are.
