Okeefenokee, Child of the Swamp

DenaliLobita

"Okee always was a real funny kid- when she was little, she told her mom she could hear the Shadowbinder, which… isn’t a gift to be taken lightly. Amethyst was proud of her daughter’s apparent abilities, her bein’ somewhat of a spiritualist herself. They’d meditate together, Amethyst asking Okee what the Shadowbinder was telling her. I think she must’ve not liked the answer, because after a few of their sessions, Amethyst called off the meditations altogether." —Zephyr

"I’ve spoken with the child, yes. Well, I’ve spoken at her I suppose, miss Okee doesn’t appear to favor conversation. I remember when she fell into the swamp. I was actually there that day, a few of us were looking for shellfish in the muck. I saw her approach the waters… I know I said she fell, but it was more like she dove in. We don’t know why she did it, what voices were calling to her that day… But I fear that she is now changed somehow. If anything, Okee has become stranger." —Cunei

"Her fur always looks wet and matted, she won’t let me get near her to clean her. She won’t even speak to me anymore. She wanders off when the family is asleep, where does she go? Oh, Shadowbinder, why have you cursed my family so? Give me back my little dragonling. Please." —Amethyst
