As a writer I enjoy once put it, life is a series of moments of transition, followed by moments of revelation. Sometimes, they can be both; especially when you look back at how you got where you are and see how far you've come. The things that have changed, the things that have stayed the same, and those that you have left behind.

While age is just a number, hitting one of the "round number" ages like I recently did is an incentive to look back on our lives - a short pause before continuing on, and I wanted to have that captured in art as well.

Thus, an image of a momentary glance back, seeing the ancient world behind me, before moving further into the future world lying ahead, possibly to an even greater journey.
