(This is pretty personal to me, I politely ask you be respectful in the comments.)
As some of you may know my sister and I were tangled up in immigration for many many years. I don't think a lot of people know what that's like, but time basically stopped for us. At 14-15 we watched our friends get jobs, at 16-17 we watched them get their licenses, at 18-19 we watched them go off to college. All the while we were left behind. We just obtained our citizenship recently, but the battle isn't over. Waiting in limbo is a heavy weight to bear, and it doesn't disappear over night. Six months after my last visit with the USCIS I still have their websites bookmarked for fear they should call me and demand more money, more papers, or worst of all, more time.

Ah, I... actually know exactly what that's like. My brother and I have been, and still are, waiting in that exact same, as you called it, limbo. I'm really glad you finally your citizenship though, and I hope nothing happens to make you give up any more precious time. That's a really, really... draining experience to go through, to say the least. You shouldn't have to go through that any more than you already have... if at all, tbh.
