Introduction

Greetings and salutations dear traveler! I see you've found your way all the way out here, come sit by the heat of the fire and warm your weary bones. You know it's dangerous to travel these roads without supervision this late into the evening, I've heard plenty of rumors about bandits around these parts lately. Will you be staying until dawn? I have a spare bedroom if you want to catch some shuteye. No? Well then, we can share stories into the early hours of the morning if you find sleeping to be too difficult.

Who are you?

My name is Michael, but folks around these parts know me better as David Hark. I'm a programmer. I know, it's not entirely obvious. Heh heh, well... that's not the whole truth obviously. I'm afraid that revealing too much about myself here in the presence of strangers would be dangerous. Let's just say that I write and tell fantastic stories about other worlds when I'm not too busy. But that is all they are, stories... Try not to look into the details too much.

You want to know more? Well alright then, I wrote my first novel in high school. It was a grand total of 270 pages long. I'll be completely honest, now I think it's a load of garbage. I would let you judge for yourself, except the full version never made it into online format. I am currently in the process of designing a universe for my next story. I have dozens of characters fully fleshed out, and a plot line in the works. My favorite part of writing stories is the history and intertwining plot mechanics, so you can expect my next story to contain lore as far as your eyes can read.

Still interested? A curious one aren't you... I graduated from college with a bachelors degree in Computer Science, with an emphasis on Computer Technology. I have a full time job at a major healthcare software provider. You'll notice that I do not have a degree pertaining to writing, so spelling and grammar are not my strong suite. In fact, logic is my strong suite. It is my personal belief that you should do something you like to do for a living, but you should keep what you love to do for yourself. In my case, I like to program, but I love to write.

You still desire more information? Well, I'm afraid I've run out of things to say, but if I ever think of something more then you can come back here and ask again.

What can I find here?

Here at my humble abode, I like to keep the materials I've created. Be they drawings, sketches, stories short or long, rough ideas, or reference materials. Be cautious though, I make my best efforts to mark materials as containing spoilers, but some items will still slip through my careful gaze. If you find something like this, be sure to give me a shout, I'll correct the mistake as soon as I can!

When do you post new things?

A good question with a terrible answer. I work full time, and writing is just a hobby. Expect updates to be sporadic and infrequent. Occasionally I will get a ton of work done, and will post many things one after another.

Do you work for money?

A commission? No, I'm deeply sorry if that's what you've come here for, but I couldn't possibly do it. I write and draw to fulfill my own fantasies, not the fantasies of others. I simply would not have the creative spark to create something wonderful. I pride myself in my work, which to some might be considered a curse, since I am rarely satisfied with my own creations. I couldn't possibly ask someone to wait months or even years while I smooth out the details, if they were paying me to create something for them.

What if I have questions?

Hm, well I suppose you could send me a private message, leave a shout, or try to contact me on another website if those fail. Otherwise if your question is one that gets asked frequently, I'll leave the answer here below:

  • Q: How did you create this cool looking profile?
A: HTML tags and literal tags such as &, <, and >. Also, a lot of patience, especially writing this next part explaining some basic HTML tags without having them automatically converted to HTML tags.

    • <hr> for a horizontal rule (ie. a line)

    • <ul>
        <li>A LIST ITEM</li>
</ul> ol instead of ul will make an ordered list (numbers instead of dots)

    • &nbsp; for a literal space, and several together give the illusion of a tab

    • <br> creates a literal line break

    • <b>BOLD TEXT</b> will bold a selection of text. Alternatively there's a list of Markdown elements that supposedly work, but I'm more familiar with HTML.

    • <a href="URL">TEXT</a href> to create that nifty link above

    • <div class="align-center">TEXT</div> To create centered text

  • Q: Are you disappointed that you can't use HTML Style modifiers?
    A: Hell yes I am...

Well, I hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck dear traveler, may we meet again some day! Oh and, do be careful of the bandits, wouldn't want to see an intelligent person such as yourself get caught by them.
