The black and white BG does really work for this, as Kirrlaos said.
It might just be the OCD side of me, but the only thing I would change is re-posing with the subject more centered on the rock. It might just be the angle this is at, but IT LOOKS WEIRD LIKE PEOPLE WOULDN'T SIT LIKE THAT OH THE INJUSTICE. :v
Thank you for the feedback!
You're absolutely right. Despite trying to keep the image balanced in cropping, it looks like Ty is being a wierdo and sitting with only one cheek on the rock haha. When I remember to carry an actual camera, I'll keep this in mind and get the fursuiters, or any subject for that matter, to try to sit not only only naturally (because his pose itself does work for the fursuit) but also in a way that looks better with respect to the environment. The above shot was very much impromptu and "hey you, sit still for a second while I snap this!"
If I were a Photoshop master, I'd try moving the rock, but that's well beyond my skill level without it being noticeable by someone with a trained eye. That and I try to be in the habit of not messing with a photo's composition. I definitely make color adjustments and may even touch up a few blemishes or distracting debris, but as far as moving/adding/subtracting major objects, I'm a purist unless it's a special case e.g. product photo.
