Journey of the Gnoll Queen p6

Cyborg-Lucario

Part 6:

While Ran and Hurch went on a mission, I was on my way to the human encampment with an escort consisting of Krashi, Grey and a bunch of other gnolls as bodyguards.
The trek was dangerous with monsters and beasts lurking around, some we should be more careful around as these might have been working for the Dark Lord.
We spent our downtimes with food and stories, my stories of our world surprised the gnolls who didn’t visit it, though Krashi and Grey were still surprised by a few things.

“Excuse me?” asked Grey. “Did you say there are vehicles that fly?”

I nodded. “Yes, and they fly really high up in the air as well.”

“How high can they fly? Can they leave the planet?” asked Grey interested.

“No, for that you need a spaceship,” I said, something that judging by Grey’s expression didn’t really answer his question, it just made him confused.

Krashi looked at me. “Not related to the world you lived in, but we should make sure you can fight with a weapon, the ancestral weapon waiting for you won’t make you a master just by picking it up.”

I nodded and stood up. “I should probably get to training then. Do you even know what that weapon is?” I asked Krashi and the rest.

They all looked at each other and said different things about it that it was either a sword, an axe or a halberd or something else. That wasn’t exactly helpful since it would be awkward if I trained with one weapon and it turned out to be something else, I certainly don’t have the time to master every single weapon there is, that I’m sure everyone is aware of.
Seriously, just on this trek, I was trying to figure out what weapon would fit me best. There are several different kinds of swords that each requires their own techniques to use, it’s gonna be a while, especially considering I have to be a diplomat as well.
Before arriving, we took a moment to change my clothes, which was unexpectedly red leather while the shoulders and rims were made out of the fur of different animals.
It felt a bit too warm what with the weather currently being sunny in spring.
We were met with stares from not only humans, but by elves and fauns (who were envoys for their diplomat) and also tabaxi. A human with a goatee and moustache dressed in formal attire with a single shoulder pad and wore a crown on his head came out of a tent to greet us.

“Welcome! I was unsure if you would come, but here you are!” said the man pleased, but also looked at me from my ears down to my feet as if he was analyzing me.

I took a step closer. “It will be an honour working together with you to free our world from the Dark Lord,” I said.

The man bowed and I responded with a curtsy, followed by some laughter from people around me. Looking around I saw Grey and Krashi give me a sign to just ignore it.

“The name’s Alexis Strype, princess of the gnolls,” I then told the regal man.

“Pleasure to meet you, your highness. I’m Fabio Alejandro Kristian Enlil Rockford, heir to the empire, the biggest that existed until the Dark Lord took over,” said the man who true to his appearance also had a very long name, just like most nobles.

We were then led inside the tent he came from and inside was a big round table with diplomats from most of the continent. Most of them looked like humans or dwarves, but one of them stood out, that diplomat was a faun, a goat creature closely connected to nature with varying degrees of magical abilities. She had creamy white fur except for the shoulders which were black, her horns were long and curvy. Her fur was especially long on her head, which made it look like long hair on a pretty girl with thick braids. She was dressed in a very beautiful dress that somehow gave her an air of nature’s beauty.
I sat at the table while Fabio stood between me and the faun, in fact, he was standing up during this whole meeting.

“Greetings one and all! We have gathered to once again strengthen the alliance between humans, elves, tabaxi and dwarves while now also getting the gnolls to join our noble cause,” said Fabio.

Humans and dwarves were booing, throwing insults, like a scabby dog, which I was honestly offended by.

“We gnolls are hyenas, not dogs. We may look like dogs, but in reality, we are closely related to cats rather than dogs,” I said, which made everyone in the room look at each other confused, except for the elves and the faun who nodded in agreement. The tabaxi diplomat, who resembled an ocelot wearing a tiny hat looked nervously at me, which I assume wasn’t just because I practically said that gnolls and tabaxi are related, but also by my size.

The faun spoke up. “It’s clear just being here and not ripping skulls that the princess in honesty wants to talk with us all.”

I nodded. “That’s right, the only skull we’re gonna rip is the Dark Lord’s,” I said.
My gnoll followers cheered, and while the faun and her elf followers didn’t outright cheer, they did nod.

“I may be gracious, as you all know. But I do appreciate anyone who wants to fight for the right cause,” said the faun.

Fabio clapped his hands. “Good, we got more important things to talk about.”

Before I could say anything, someone threw a rotten tomato at Fabio, which I immediately caught to the amazement of everyone. I eyed around and saw a human lady walk towards the exit. “Grey, stop her.”

The small gnoll went after the woman and grabbed her hand, which caused the woman to scream and it looked like everyone was gonna pull out their weapons, I had to act quickly.

“Let’s not start a fight! Just admit to the tomato throwing so we can continue with this meeting!” I said loudly.

The woman looked at me. “I admit you’re faster than you look, but I still don’t like Fabio since he has absolutely no plans for when we have defeated the Dark Lord,” she said and glared at Fabio.

Sure, it was technically good that people in this world weren’t negative towards me this time, but I did suddenly feel somewhat worried about Fabio not having any plans.

“It is worrying that you don’t have a plan, yet,” I said to Fabio. “But if you need someone strong, we gnolls will join this alliance and hopefully we all can come up with a good plan for what we will do after we have defeated the Dark Lord.”

One of the dwarves stood up. “I agree with the lass, looks like we have to help the humans out again with their plans.”

The faun clapped her hooves. “Excellent looks like we may be one step closer to bringing peace to our world!”

Everyone cheered and the meeting proceeded without any issues. It all went well, but I can’t get off the feeling that it went too well.
