Miguel Corazon is a freelance photographer at The Daily Chatot, one of the biggest newspaper and site of Hightop City (as well as the rest of the region) who one day was going to get photos for a scoop regarding the criminal Team Gigas.
With the help of sources from the trainer net, he found one of their labs beneath what seemed like an abandoned warehouse.
He sneaked around with his trusty Galvantula, Van by his side in case they would meet up with some of their grunts.
They then found in the lab a strange machine, coneshaped and fits in the hand. Miguel knew not to touch strange objects but Van was curious and tapped it, only to activate it when the sound of heavy doors opened up not too far from where they were and that small machine stuck itself into Van. Miguel tried to get it off from his friend only for the machine to react and blended them and their DNA together to form a new creature, said creature escaping once the grunts of Team Gigas came.

He later met a former scientist of Team Gigas named Jennifer Banner who helped them figure out how to seperate themselves as it was something she remembered the former head scientist was working on before vanishing under mysterious circumstances.

But whenever the situation calls, Miguel and Van can combine themselves with a X-Link to become one again and become the hero called Galvantula-Man!

As Galvantula-Man, they got all the powers of a Galvantula, as well as the human ability to use tools. When seperated so does Miguel still have a spider-sense as well as enhanced agility and strenght while Van now has the ability to talk, something he only does around people he knows as it might frighten some people.
