Part 3:

We spent several days getting from the forest to our first goal, a gnoll encampment, but during this time I got to ask my allies several questions about Galoor, like what kind of currency is being used, its gold coins. What races live here aside from gnolls.
There’s apparently tabaxi, fauns, orcs, elves, dragonborn, humans, dwarves, goblinoids, kobolds and gnomes. Some are rarer than others. There’s apparently even more races out there and more continents than Galoor and the aforementioned eastern continent with several smaller islands that have yet to be discovered.
We also saw how the war had caused a lot of damage to several settlements and it looks like nature aside from the magically enchanted forest hasn’t been able to recover. Grey told me how armies either fell or were converted to the Dark Lord’s forces, which didn’t sound good, in fact, it sounded horrible.
“How are we even supposed to stop the Dark Lord?” I asked the short gnoll.
“It is said that a group of heroes with great willpower will confront the Dark Lord and smite him with legendary blades. That’s at least what the legends said.” Answered Grey.
“Legends?” I asked with worry in my voice.
Ran circled around me. “Hmm, you have been able to talk me into joining you darling, but I don’t think your words will work against the Dark Lord.” She said and pulled out one of her short swords.
“I get that a magical weapon will help me out in fighting against the Dark Lord, but I can’t do it alone,” I said.
My allies were all looking at me with Krashi saying; “Don’t worry, while you and your closest allies are fighting against the Dark Lord, our armies will be able to attack since he will be too distracted fighting you.”
I looked at them, I wish I could have smiled, but let’s be honest, I didn’t know how to lead an army as I have never been in an army before and even though we have an awesome kitsune ranger with magical powers so wasn’t I sure if we could do it. I looked down at the ground, or whatever I could see past my belly, which made me think of how big I am and while all the walking was a good exercise so did it make me want more food, but we also need more allies…
“We really need more allies!” I exclaimed.
“We already knew that we would need allies,” said Krashi.
“No, we really need allies. Let’s see what the people at the encampment know once we’re there!” I said.
“I hope we got some good news regarding what allies we might be getting,” said Krashi. “We did send envoys to the other kingdoms to see if they could help us defeat the Dark Lord.”
Ran nodded. “They better be, darling. The kingdoms are not doing good after the Dark Lord has taken over the continent, they have no reason to refuse when they barely have anything to rule over,” said Ran.
“So… no one has been able to form an alliance during these twenty years?” I asked with a sceptic tone.
The three gnolls looked uncomfortable at each other. “We gnolls are not as refined as the other races and attempts at making alliances have failed whether we were part of it or not,” said Hurch.
“But I’m sure we can form alliances better now that I, the princess, are here,” I said.
“You’re right!” said Grey. “We got a better chance with both a diplomat and royalty at our side!”
I nodded, but deep down I was still worried that no matter how many times I was explained about the politics of this world, I would still fail at forming alliances.

This kind of worry continued on as we finally arrived at the gnoll encampment where all the gnolls came to us. Some of them were wary or Ran.
“Don’t everyone, she’s with us,” I said.
One of the gnolls, an elderly one glared at me. “And who is this one and how did she manage to get so fat?”
Krashi cleared her throat. “Everyone, what you see before you is the lost princess, Ashira Goldfang! She has been growing up in another world sent by the green wizard!”
Everyone was quiet, some were visibly confused. I was just thinking how weird it feels that my real birth name was Ashira, which didn’t fit right with me.
“Everyone,” I said aloud. “You may call me Alexis as that’s the name I have grown up with.”
The elderly gnoll stepped up to me. “Are you capable of fighting?” he asked.
“Yes… though I could need a magical weapon to help me out,” I said, even though I’m not experienced enough fighting others with weapons.
“Oh yeah?” asked a lady gnoll. “Are you even tough enough?”
“Yes, of course, I am!” I said with a straight back and making myself look taller.
They seemed impressed that I can at least carry my weight around, but some of them were still sceptical.
“Are you able to outdrink or out smoke anyone?” asked a gnoll who looked to be one year older than me.
“No, I can’t stand the taste of alcohol and smoking is plain bad for your lungs,” I said, which made them disappointed.
“I guess she never starts a fight either or shows her dominance,” could be heard from the crowd.
“Actually, while it’s not my first option so have I gotten into fights that end with me sitting on my opponents or devouring them whole,” I told my people, that did seem to get them in a better mood.
“You know, aside from not drinking, she does sound like a gnoll,” said one of them.
“And to be fair, she lived in a different world, making it hard for her to grow up the gnoll way,” said another.
They all looked at me and cheered. “Hail princess Alexis, may you show what you got!”
That seemed to have gone well, I looked at my allies and gave them a thumbs-up, though at this time I made it clear to them by my expression that I might need help moving forward.
