yes he can hide himself in the sun as stone, he can also unfreeze himself when he is in the shade to kill in daylight.

When he is like that between the cracks you can see blood with souls flowing inside him, If in gargoyle mode he got no blood hes doomed as a statue.
Someone can give blood to revive a vampire statue if they are stuck. It can also be stuck as banished.

Tbh they can sleep long years as a statue aswell but they rather dont be out the open because humans tend to unholy things.
