This is a rather special piece and a first for me. I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone recognises this one, but this is a redo of a picture from exactly one year ago today. April 24 was my 10th 'quick paint' day. This version was less quick and took a few weeks to finish.

This is the first of (at least) two pieces I'll be redoing. They hold a special place in my mind and I've grown attached to them even if I can't quite place why. This usually means that the image in my head will never quite made it into reality and that as I improve in skill, I'll be able to approach what I see.

When I posted the original, it was during the first real rain of the year. I always love the smell of the rain and the sound that it makes on the tin roof outside my window. I missed the first rain by a little bit, but today walked home in a sprinkle for the first time this year. It was overcast, gusty and chilly, but I couldn't imaging a better day to finish exams on.
