First and foremost, sorry people that I don't update this as much as I should >< But I wanted to upload this cutie now. I'm back from my mini vacation to my local anime con and I had a blast. So many different things happened last weekend and it really was a good break from all the stress at home. Now that I am home, I am back to work on art and to get me a bit warmed up I decided to draw this cutie which actually appeared to me in a dream, the first dream I had when I got home from the con. Lemme share a bit about it. ^^

So my sister has a small aquarium in her room which basically just has plants in it, but it's more for the soothing sound of water that helps her sleep. In there, there's a little marimo moss ball, basically a small little ball of moss that just sits there and looks cute lol. Well my friend Britty came over a week ago and saw it and thought it was so adorable, she bought one for herself as well. My sister even bought a friend for her little Momo(the nickname for her moss ball. It's a living thing, it needs a name! XD).

Apparently my subconscious was all "if they can have aquariums you should too!" because I had a dream where they were off designing and adding things to their tanks and I felt sorta left out so I went to an aquarium store. I found a small tank I liked and went to search for something to put in it. There was a back corner with a small pail with 6 eggs inside it but no label as to what they were. I figured I'd go for a gamble and asked to buy the eggs, and was told that they were free so I took them home.

After a while of waiting(again this is a dream so it all happened in about an hour's time LOL) I noticed that most of the eggs were hatching! So I sat with my nose pressed to the aquarium watching as 5 baby sea turtles hatched from the eggs. I was thrilled, they're adorables. X3 I ended up actually trading the sea turtles back to the store later in the dream, but you'll find out why soon...

I noticed that the last egg hadn't hatched. That was kinda sad to me, that it was just lingering there and all by itself. So I went to reach in to take the egg out and when I touched it, the egg started hatching. So I cradled the egg in my hands as it hatched open and this cutie swam out. It was a rather gorgeous creature. It was sleek and agile in the water, and looked like a very pale Siamese cat with a shark like tail and gills and it was probably no more than 6 inches long from tip of the nose to tip of the tail. It continued to swim around in figure eights around my hands, and rubbed up against my wrists with a echo-y lyrical sort of purr. It was truly magical.

It was then that I realized that this sharkitty(what I started calling it, shark/kitty) probably ate other fish, or possibly turtles(the other hatchlings DX) and would need a much bigger tank. So I took the baby sea turtles back to the store, as well as my current tank and traded it in to get a larger one and kept this baby. Once the new tank was set up, I watched this little baby swim and dart through the open space a few moments before waking up.

I couldn't let such a magical guest in my dream world just disappear over time... I HAD to get it down onto paper.

I don't know the gender of the critter, but I was calling it a "her" the whole time in the dream so that's why I put down female. I also never did get a chance to give it a name considering I was more worried about finding a suitable home for it first... so perhaps that will come later. X3

But I wanted to share my adorable new baby with you all before I get back to work on commissions tonight. ^^
