Oh man, and gouache can be really finicky to work with -- gorgeous strong color though!

I've heard that, but I find gouache very forgiving and easier than acrylics or watercolor :S

(Dunno about oil, never've used it.)

It's my paint of choice as well actually -- I really love that you can use it opaque or wash, that you can pick up color with it, that you can blend so easily. But the blending-easily is a gift and a curse I find. I find it difficult not to muddy my colors.

What surface is this on, if you don't mind me asking?

Chipboard, y'know that stuff used for the back of writing pads and spiral notebooks. It's a cheap cardboard.

Oh wow! I never thought of that haha. And the gouache shows up on that no problem? No opacity issues? I gotta try that lol

Fantastic colors~ The rain is a nice touch too. Or perhaps tiny shooting stars? Haha.
