Grant had always enjoyed spending time out on the beach, but he rarely went beyond the sand. Today, that was to change, thanks to the influence of one of his nearby friends. Cameron, a green- and beige-furred canine, had invited him onto the canine’s boat for a trip out to sea, and the charmeleon was bringing his trusty baby blue life jacket on the trip.
When they were far out at sea, Cameron came up with the idea to get into the water, and was awfully persuasive in convincing Grant that it was a good idea. Grant approached the backside of the boat, looking at the ladder leading into the ocean and wondering what would happen once he let go of the metal. He checked his life jacket, pressing on it to make sure it had some air in it, which it did; he always made sure to pull on the ripcord before any water-related experience.
However, Cameron had some more… mischievous intentions. Cameron had swapped Grant’s original life jacket with another one, one which was capable of inflating further beyond a single pull of its cord. Just before Grant stepped onto the ladder, Cameron spun him around and gave the life jacket’s cord a good four pulls before letting the charmeleon fall into the water.
Grant, albeit disoriented, was able to quickly find his way up thanks to his life jacket, and barely shot a glare at Cameron before he heard a hissing sound emanating from the jacket. Looking down, Grant could clearly tell his jacket was continuing to inflate, and it was getting bigger by the second. At the same time, it was inflating at a much higher rate than it normally did, and soon half his biceps were enveloped by the jacket itself. However, it didn’t stop there, and kept getting bigger, soon causing the gear to push against the bottom of his snout as well as start moving over his elbows, making his arms stick straight out.
Cameron, meanwhile, was laughing away on the boat, having almost fallen into the water himself from pure laughter as he watches his prank beautifully unfold. By the time the hissing finally stopped, Grant’s life jacket had covered up to his wrists, and had even started to bulge over his head before he could hear and feel the inflation stopping. Breathing a sigh of relief, he immediately began wondering how he would get out of this situation… or even back onto the boat...
