The Chocobo Express - by Tanio

Charem

A sturdy land-bird like a chocobo makes for quite a good mount to ride upon. But Tanio the foxsky and I have discovered that they can comfortably handle far more weight than just one person...so long as that weight is distributed in the right places!

You see, for a simple herbivore whose favored food are merely the light salady goodness of gysahl greens, the chocobo has quite a deceptively-strong and durable stomach. It is not powerful as far as digestion goes - far from it, since it only has to digest plant matter - but their bellies are clearly designed to hold onto an impressive quantity of such 'light' foods, perhaps to keep around and digest over the course of a few days. Indeed, many a chocobo farmer has seen just how much these yellow birds can gorge themselves...

Tanio, being an entrepreneur...and me, being always vorish...put two and two together. After finding a way to distill gysahl greens into a concentrated spray, we purchased the strongest and largest of chocobos we could find - one specifically bred to carry lots of weight, at that - and began to run quite an ingenious marketing campaign. 'Take a ride INSIDE a chocobo!' proclaimed our ads, promoting the far cheaper cost of our new service than any taxi or bus could beat, while also capitalizing on just how much of a new experience it was too.

We had quite a line of customers on his business' opening day, and the chocobo was only more than happy to swallow each and every person presented into his face. Sure, the bird was no meat-eater, but the bird merely thought he was consuming more delicious, if quite meaty, gysahl greens. And it was all thanks to the concentrated, minty-fresh, and natural gysahl spray that we had to merely spritz upon each passenger to make the bird consider them a tantalizing snack!

As is fairly obvious if you look into the drooling beak of the chocobo, I too was interested in 'getting in' on this opening day event first-hand. After all, it's good for an employee to be directly involved to make sure the operation runs smoothly! It was certainly quite a slick ride, but the bird carried all his weight like a champ! As for exiting the ride, well...that took a little time, but let's just say that the bird's body knew how to pass indigestible meals right through it. ;P And don't worry; the yellow avian was given quite a hearty diet of REAL gysahl greens as a reward afterwards!

This was an adorable picture that   tanio drew up some time ago, starring me and him and our voracious chocobo 'bus'. ^_^

I'm not huge on birds typically, but I do like more 'land-based' birds...with chocobos certainly one of my top picks. (Along with gryphons...but if we're talking PURE birds, then chocobos are totally the best ever. <3)
