I am stuck with a discriminating palate
I’m more a fan of walnuts than of wheat
But as hard as I may try, one thing I can’t deny
A twenty-seven-year-old* boy has got to eat

There’s Penny in her kitchen Monday evenin’
Warmin’ up her spy who came in from the cold

With just a cookie sheet she fixed some rolls

She kissed me and said, “Secret, I’ll be busy”
And led me to my cozy easy chair
But then I saw it all in the mirror
And learned exactly how they were prepared

The dough was just laid out and never beaten
No, she didn’t even let me lick a bowl
But of the fresh baked goods I’ve ever eaten
The sweetest of them all are Penny’s rolls
