Dragon Wing Study 2 - Bat - Second Attempt

Cassander

(First Attempt.)

This is my second attempt at a bat-style dragon wing. I tweaked the pose to be more stretched out, I thinned down the limb, and I elongated the digits. While the last one looked a bit like an arm with some membrane draped on it, I think this one looks a little more like a wing.

After doing some research on bat wings, I also notice a difference between bat wings and common dragon wings that I hadn't before. Bat wings tend to have a relatively short second digit, while in a lot of dragons, that second finger is the longest digit. On a sort of related note, I'm thinking I might try a hybrid pterosaur/bat wing where you have that elongated digit stretching way out but also the other digits to help support the wing. Not sure how different that'd be from what I described above though.

I'll probably try a straight pterosaur wing next, but when I do a bat-style wing again, I think I'm gonna really lengthen those digits out so that the longest digit is at least as long as the combined radius+radius/ulna.

Critique and encouragement are both appreciated. I'm still a beginner but am trying to get better.
