So here we come to one of my biggest disappointments! =D It's not about hot how it turned out, I still love this pic - but how few views it initially received! =P If I hadn't of spent 3 weeks making it I probably wouldn't have minded, but this was kind of my "Pinocchio" moment like Disney had where he said "Never again" after spending so much time and money on that film only to have it do mediocre box office initially. XD

And so it was quite a while before I spent more than a week on any artwork again, but since I've spent much longer on some recent pics 3 weeks doesn't seem like a big deal anymore now! XD

Plus this pic eventually did get a lot of nice views and comments, so in the end it all worked out. =3

Maybe this pic was too intense? Usually my artwork is for the lulz but this one was rather serious. I do plan to do some more NIMH fanart, if I can ever get the concept sketches off the ground... Literally! =3

I love the shading and lighting in this one, and I love how I managed to recreate a background from the actual movie. I can't remember exactly out how I figured it out even though I still have the Photoshop version of it; it used all kinds of crazy layer masks and adjustment layers! XD

One thing I'd redo now is Johnathan is too big in this image, though maybe it's OK because of the forced perspective?
