Zephyr - Cliffdwell by Caelan

Zephyr - Cliffdwell

Caelan

You know those pieces you do sometimes where you learn a ton in the process, but by the time you're done, you realize you don't care for it any more...? Yeah, this was one of those. Oh, how many hours it consumed! But I did learn a ton, so that's alright, I suppose.

This also ties in with Zephyr, an on-hiatus game project I worked on last year.

I love these types of landscapes, specifically ones where civilization finds unique ways to create shelter with natural geological formations. There's also a great sense of scale here. Throwing in that wagon down at the bottom of the piece really helps establish that this canyon here is appropriately massive which makes the efforts of those villagers all that much more impressive to make that place their home. Just a ton to take away from this. Well done!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment, I really appreciate it! Glad you enjoy the piece so much... This was a fun world to play around with, and I hope I do get to some day develop that project way down the road :)
