this is Duff Alpes (Al-Pess), a blue eyed elf with melanism who works as a bouncer at one of the bars within the Banister owned by barkeep Tabitha. due to the melanism, he lacks sufficient magical abilities, and hasn’t bothered trying to hone them. melanism in elves, who biologically are all considered albino, is extremely rare and seen as strange, so to avoid ostracism from his fellow elves, his parents and he himself refer to him as a guilt.

despite his brooding appearance, he’s very kind and understanding, taking his job of peacekeeper at the bar seriously. he’ll gladly help a drunk citizen, or walk a lady, home. don’t take him for a pushover though. he’ll knock you on your ass and toss you ten feet if you cross the line. he doesn’t talk much, because frankly, he doesn’t feel the need to, as well as his thick Scottish accent is sometimes hard to understand. he loves the outdoors, and can often be found tending to his garden. Tabitha manages to get enthusiastic conversations out of him though, the two being good friends
