The Tale of Shroudeon:
There once were an Eevee and a trainer who were very old and very dear friends. Finally, the day came for Death to pay the trainer a visit and take them from the mortal realm. The Eevee begged Death to take it as well, so that, as it had walked by its trainer's side in life, it could walk with them in the afterlife. Death was touched by the Pokemon's plea, and granted the Eevee's wish, changing the Pokemon to a spectral form capable of passing between the realms of the living and the dead. And so the pair crossed over to the other side, together, and together they stayed for all of time.

In modern times, it is said that there is a bell at the gravesite of the trainer, and that ringing it can impart Death's favor on Eevee in remembrance, if their bond to their human counterpart is worthy.
