I got wolfbird for February's round of
conbadgeexchange!
I tried some new techniques for coloring black fur, and I think it came out looking really cool.

Thanks! I did the background by making blotches of different shades of blue and dripping rubbing alcohol onto the paper.

Oh, I've heard about doing that! I haven't tried it yet, partly because I'm not sure how you do it without curling the paper. I guess you can just press it flat again after, though?

I let it dry and ran it through the laminater because I didn't want to wait, but pressing it flat in a heavy book would work too!

That blue background is really pretty! It looks tie-dyed. I like the technique you did on the black fur, too. That can always be tricky to have it be black and still be able to see detail. The grayer ares on this give it some good dimension.
