Redwall Species Lineup by Briarwood

Redwall Species Lineup

Briarwood

PLEASE FULLVIEW, weasyl shrinks this down to practically nothing!

So here's something I've been working on here and there... a size chart of some of the more common Redwall critters. I imagine there's quite a bit of difference between a badger and, say, a rat or mouse, but not 100% true to real life. This is just my own interpretation, though! Also a fun exercise in outfit design.

No references were used on any of these (except for a quick peek at a pic of a hedgehog, because seriously hedgehogs wtf are you) so I apologize for any glaring errors!

I really enjoy these size-differences. As you said, they are not the actual real ones, but the work really well. At least I buy them 100%.

Yeah... it wouldn't make much sense for mice to be able to battle foxes and wildcats and such if they were real mouse sized. XD

Indeed. In small size you can dodge easily, but your stings-I mean attacks would be less than magnificant. Even if I believe in acupuncture I doubted they used the same tacticks there.

Man, I used to love this series so much. Cool to see many of the creatures side by side with very talented artwork!

    The badgeerr!! <3 <3 <3

He's my favorite too. Probably because he's the first one I drew, and therefore the one I put the most time and effort into. :P

Oh, gosh, these books were so great. I personally always pictured the rabbits as HELLA tall, but I love the way you depicted every species here. What a great and varied style!

Well, with the ears they're pretty dang tall. :P

I'm always so happy to find good Redwall art. I'm surprised I haven't seen more out there amongst the furry/anthro community. Perhaps because the predator species are usually portrayed as villians? Who knows... Fabulous job here!

idk, considering the kind of fanart furries usually make I'm kind of glad there isn't more Redwall stuff out there. D:

I've never even cracked open a Redwall novel, but damn, they do inspire some awesome fanart......

Some of them are hit-or-miss (especially the later ones) but the first three are absolutely worth reading.

Oh my god. I wanted to do something like this, but you've just pinpointed almost EXACTLY how I imagine all of the species. This is so amazing!
