Thanks, I did several thumbnails to finally get the composition :).
For the soft style : Gaussian blur/color balance combined with standard painting technique :color picker, square brush and opacity play around. Hope I didn't bothered you X3-

Oh, I can definitely see the square brush now that you mention it. Really suits the image nicely! Did you do color keys on the thumbnails as well?

They are really important, I really need to get back into the practice of doing thumbs and color keys for my work as well, the results are always so much better!

same for characters, quick little study for understanding movements and forces helps sooo much. The counterpart I feels really insecure when I draw without doing one X/
