When they first met, they were both just kids. Maya hadn't been ordained as protector of her sanctuary yet, and Del couldn't even shuffle a deck of cards. Over time, though, their love for one another blossomed. They live on islands only an hour's ferry ride apart, so there's no shortage of opportunities for one to visit the other.

Del goes to visit Maya and spend whole days at her carefully-tended aquatic gardens, where peace and harmony are the primary rules and there are no games or competitions to worry about, just the sounds of rippling water and a small tea-house made for quiet contemplation. And when Maya starts to get bored, she leaves the sanctuary to her assistants and heads over to Del's place for some momentary indulgence - when she's off the clock, Maya will go out with Del to watch whatever movies or plays are showing around Tableau Village.
