Cody the Pomerainian

From 2010

Note: Cody passed away last year, and now I am extra grateful that my Grandma has this little momento of him. Still one of my favorite needlefelts that I've ever done.

Here is my needlefelted version of Cody, my grandmother's pomeranian, compared with the actual Cody. X3 Getting the patterns in the back was the most difficult part, but the fabric marker did it's job well. (I still think the stripe ended up in the wrong spot though. >.<) Also, when I ordered my alpaca wool from Over the Rainbow, I was given this GINORMOUS bag of brown wool that turned out to be just the right shade of reddish brown for Cody! XD The grey in his ears and muzzle was also made with alpaca wool that was naturally colored gray. The only part I had to dye was the light tan in his ruff and underside, which the Rit dye I used turned out to be a decent color for. The black came from a skein of Alpine Wool yarn. XD

Oh, and in the middle right photo, you can see my grandmother's cat, Homer. XD
