Welcome to the land of cold and construction, our two official seasons.-
Way up here in the far far north there's also 'mosquitoes'...which is just between cold and construction! (been in far northern Ontario for almost 9 years now, that's why this is so amazing that it's over, it's taken so...so long x.x)

YIkes, that is a long time. And true, forgot about mosquitoes, though we've been missing out on that the last few years (Central Alberta for myself)

Lucky! Ours have been getting worse. Any given evening in the summer there's no less than 35 of them on every window screen in the house waiting for you to come outside
